We are delighted to have achieved the Unicef Rights Respecting Schools Silver Award.

An assessor from Unicef visited us on 14th March 2019 and found that we have embedded the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in policy, practice and culture.

Excellent practice was recognised in our Activity and Focus Days, provision of emotional wellbeing support, Student Voice, Student Charters designed by the student steering group visible in classrooms, and our Anne Frank Ambassador programme.

The Unicef assessor stated that it was clear that Trinity is an incredibly caring, person-centred provision and that we put children and young people’s rights at the heart of all we do.

We are immensely proud of our staff and students in securing this wonderful recognition. Going forward we shall continue to promote children’s rights on a local and global scale, working towards the RRSA Gold.

Today is World Book Day, and Trinity School students have celebrated by dressing up as their favourite book character.

This year’s characters include Willy Wonka, Peter Pan, Harry Potter, Sherlock Holmes, and many more.

In the Summer we will be having a Bookathon, sending books to children in Africa. This will support World Book Day’s mission to give every child and young person a book of their own.
