CReSTeD Inspection Report 2005
The following quotes have been taken from the Inspection report of May 2005 by CReSTeD: the Council for the Registration of Schools teaching Dyslexic pupils. A full copy of this report is available from the school on request
'The special exam arrangements were seen as fully appropriate for the pupils according to their individual requirements.'
'…the school has comprehensive Pastoral care arrangements which were observed to be working very well.'
'The relationship between staff and children was exactly on the right level, with respect on each side towards the other.'
'The staff develop teaching programmes which are entirely appropriate to the children in their care.'
'…the homework is adapted entirely to meet the needs of the pupil.'
'The consultants thought that the staff were enthusiastic, informed and professional.'
'The pupils responded with affection and respect to questions about their teachers, and were grateful to them for the progress they, the pupils, had made in the school. 7 out of 9 pupils said they had considerable reading problems when they arrived at the school but they all now had confidence in their reading ability. Art was the most popular subject followed by Maths, IT, DT, and English. Most of the pupils had been bullied or in other ways victimised in previous schools, and were particularly grateful to this school where bullying did not appear to exist at all. They rated the school and their teachers very highly. The school is to be congratulated on this response.'
