Trinity uses three-way intervention to attain a balance to its curriculum. Most easily described as a 'triangle of intervention', each of the three aspects of the programme of study are seen as essential to the development and well-being of our students:
Academic Attainment: using the guidelines of the National Curriculum in Key Stages 1, 2 and 3 to prepare for examination courses in KS4, including GCSE, National Certificates and Life Skills, the programme also incorporates a wider curriculum, linking it to the other two areas of study. As with all aspects of the education at Trinity, the school has a flexible approach to enabling students to find the most relevant examination path for them.
Language and Communication: form the core of the programmes used to support students, led by the school's Speech, Language & Communication therapist. These are delivered by staff as part of the whole-school approach to learning, both in school and during school visits as part of the broader educational experience.
Personal and Social Development: in conjunction with the other two areas, these are vital to the rounded development of the individual. Life skills and independent living are taught, including cooking, economic well-being and independent travel.
Trinity offers a confidential mentoring scheme which provides individual support for learning or social development.
